Guys Want More Than Sex

Guys and sex. They seem to go together. We see the stereotype everywhere—guys hitting it on prom night, guys competing to see who can sleep with the most women.

It makes you wonder, is sex the only thing guys care about?

Not for the 10 guys we talked to. When it comes to girls, they talk about personality, a sense of humor, and a girl who understands them. Looks count, they add. But there’s more to romance than a great bod.

“I admit that the first thing that catches my eye is a pretty face and a great body,” says Drew Anadi, 18, “but if she’s only a body, then what kind of conversation can we have?”

Looks, they add, only go so far. “Finding out a really beautiful girl is an airhead is a total let down,” says Aaron Zitch, 18.

A sense of humor is the number one thing they look for in a girl.

“I would never want to date a girl who didn’t have a sense of humor. I would have to worry if my jokes were offending her all the time,” said Joe Chenie, 16.

Of course, different guys are into different things. Some guys like girls who are into sports, others want girls who know their way around the library. But most of the guys we interviewed look for a girl with a great personality and a sense of humor.

Ryan Smith, 19, has had a steady girlfriend for over a year. His favorite thing about her is the way she makes him feel. She is sensitive and always willing to listen when something is bothering him. They base their relationship on trust, not sex.

“I look for someone I can connect with, not someone I can have sex with,” he says. Good news, hey girls?

mmm.... I have to say, maybe not all the time.

I that guys do want deep relationships, yes, but sometimes being deep all the time is tiresome. Like if you just came back from work, you're physically if not mentally drained, then you have to get ready for that dinner date you have. Would you really go for a mensa candidate to go out with? Or is an airhead with perfect 10 body more to your liking? In this instance - I'd probably go for the airhead.

I agree with that article that men looks for more than just sex or that occaional romp in the hay... but I disagree that men will do that all the time, and that every man will do that.

Sometimes having sex without the strings is a good thing too.
