Tips to keep you safe

1. Carry a non-lethal weapon like a can of pepper spray or chilli powder with you.

These won't stop a really determined attacker, but you may be able to distract the criminal for a few vital seconds which may be enough for you to get away.

2. Walk facing the oncoming traffic so you are not attacked by surprise from behind.

3. Wear comfortable shoes so you can run if you think you are being followed.

1. When carrying a handbag, don't carry large amounts of money or unwanted credit or ATM cards.

2. Never stop to talk to strangers, no matter how harmless or well-dressed they look.

If someone drops in unexpectedly and you are not comfortable with their presence, leave the main door open.

4. If your job involves working late hours or travelling at night, do not take unnecessary risks.

If your route takes you through empty streets or ill-lit areas, it would be better if you can ask a friend or a family member to pick you up from the most convenient point.

1. Always ensure your child has some identification along with him/ her that gives his/ her name, address and your contact number.

Slightly older children need to memorise your mobile number and address so they can contact you in an emergency.

2. Tell your children policemen are our friends, and they can approach a policeman if they are in trouble.

Show them it is okay to ask for help whenever they need to do so.

3. Warn children about strangers and why they must not talk to them at all!

Explain to your children that a stranger is anyone they do not know.

4. Teach your children about the danger of sexual predators. Explain to them the difference between good and bad touching.


What to avoid

1. Don't scare children with vague stories.

Children can judge situations better if they know what the danger is.

2. Don't let them open the door to strangers even when you are at home.

3. Never let your children feel they cannot tell you everything. Make sure they have absolute confidence in you.

The world is only as safe as we can make it for ourselves and our children.

But do you agree that police are good friends????
Now-a-days police rape young girls? It occurs almost everywhere but not all are reported, just cause they are police people and they have power.
All girls are not supported by their family to file a complaint against a policeman... I dont say that police are not good or they are not peoples friends..
Its because of a few bad polices the whole department is being looked upon down... isnt it????? :?:

I Cant say..that police are good friends.. You shld not see only few stupid fellows who is doing these kind of sin, there are lot of good police men r there..who can behave like a friend to the public...

Yes its because of bad policies, its beacuse of our laws, there are lot of holes are there in it, our indian law was constructed manily for the poor people but thry r not using it, only criminals using our law.....

what shld we do??immm...... only some like anniyan shld & change this...
