Vaughan not ruling out second Test

Michael Vaughan has not ruled out recovering in time to lead England in the second Test at Faisalabad, starting on November 20. Vaughan injured his knee during the warm-up match against Pakistan A and handed over the captaincy for the first Test to Marcus Trescothick

However, Vaughan also said that if he didn't recover he wouldn't stay around the tour party. "There is a slight chance I might be fit for the second Test. If not I might have to disappear from this tour. I am going to give it my best try before the second Test. It is my best chance of continuing in the series."

Alastair Cook, the Essex batsmen, recently arrived in Pakistan as cover for Vaughan. Meanwhile, Trescothick enjoyed an impressive day in charge of England on the first day at Multan as Pakistan closed on 244 for 6.
