Pravin Tripathi, CEO of Hansa Consulting and IIM-A batch of 1978, remembers his days at D-15 the dormitory where a senior would tell him during exam time: "It is 7.28 now. Wake me up at 7.30."
"He would take a nap for two minutes flat and wake up fresh as a daisy," Tripathi recalls fondly. He would then study all night and top his exams. This gold medalist also represented the institute in four sports, including cricket and hockey.
Today, the "two-minute napper" Srikant Datar is being touted as the next dean of Harvard Business School (HBS).
According to a report in Harvard Crimson, the university’s in-house newspaper, Datar, senior associate dean and the Arthur Lowes Dickinson Professor of Accounting at HBS has emerged as the favourite for the big job.
